Come see the Eagles eat pie!

On Tuesday September 25th there will be five Eagle Football players taking on other local football teams in a pie eating contest at Kings Family Restaurant as part of their 40th anniversary celebration. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Route 48 & 30 and the starting time is 7:30pm.  Everyone is invited to come out and cheer the boys on as they try to eat five apple pies faster than the other teams.  Also, the price of a piece of apple pie will be $0.45.   I can’t think of a better way to be entertainment on a Tuesday night.

Stat Stars of the Week!!

Well this week we have three players that made PA’s Stat Stars of the Week for Week 2.  Chris Loving continues to wreck havoc on the opponents with highlight reel runs.  He can do everything, check out the highlights of the game and see him break dance in the end zone.  Chris made the stat stars for scoring 4 TD’s and for returning a punt 65 yards for one of his scores.  Isaiah Jackson our monster LB/RB not only puts fear into the opponents with his vicious hits but also with his sticky hands and quick feet.  Isaiah made the stat stars for returning an interception 32 yards for a touchdown.  The last Eagle to make the stat stars is one of the quietest kids off the field but is quickly making noise on the field from both sides of the ball.  Robbie Heatherington made the stat stars for having two interceptions last week.  Congratulations to Chris, Isaiah and Robbie!

A Great Start!

What a great time we had Friday. It started with a great turn out for the tailgate party where we had a ton of good food and the festive atmosphere continued up on the field with a great turnout in the stands. I don't think any Serra fans went home disappointed. For you people that missed it be sure to scroll down and check out the highlights. A few of those highlights are good enough for ESPN!

After getting the first game jitters out of the way our offense and defense settled down and took care of business. The offense rushed for well over 300 yards and the defense swarmed to the ball like killer bees! Be sure to come and see a game, you don't want to miss any more of the excitement.

We travel to Dormont stadium on Saturday night to take on Bishop Canevin in another non-conference match up. If you plan on coming to the game directions can be found in the schedule section of the site.

Also, if anyone wants a DVD of last weeks game or any game going forward they can be ordered through me. Individual games are $10 and the whole season can be purchased for $80.

Make sure you tell your friends and family to check out the hihglights of the game. Each week the highlights will be posted by Tuesday of the next week.
